About this opportunity:

Students who excel in this position enjoy creating/fixing processes and tools to support global Engineering Teams (Design of Hardware, Software, Test and other Solutions) and create/maintain systems and tools needed to drive our services business, tools and analytics/reporting. 

 

This role supports our ATS Engineering Services group, which designs and develops products and tests solutions for our internal and external customers. The Engineering Intern will collect, analyze, develop, document and communicate business requirements, and work with various Engineering teams to develop, deliver, and administer solutions. The Intern will enjoy a stimulating and challenging work environment in a highly motivated team. We are looking for a team player who is able to learn quickly, is self-motivated, and has excellent analytical abilities. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to several key enabling functions in the Global Engineering Services Organization, including Business Intelligence Development, Tool Development Projects, Data Analytics & Reporting, Google Apps Script Development, and Tools enabling Project Management of Engineering Projects.

 

The Intern should be familiar with data analytics with excel and experience with PowerBI is an asset. A strong programming background (on various software platforms) is an asset.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Knowledge of programming (Javascript or Python preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, technical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong self-motivation.
  • Experience with PowerBI is an asset. We are prepared to provide full training for those without prior experience. It is expected that at the end of the internship, the intern will be a fully trained PowerBI data analyst. 
  • Experience developing custom Google App Scripts is an asset.

 

Activities: 

  • Data analytics of rich datasets streaming from multiple sites in multinational organization.
  • Work with business owners and team leaders to create business requirements for the creation and update of PowerBI dashboards, other data analytics, and monthly reports.
  • Administer Global Database platform and analytic dashboards including development and continuous improvement.
  • Interpretation of data for monthly executive reviews.
  • Work closely in cross-functional team of Engineering and IT teams, as well as business partners to deliver solutions.
  • Provide system training to end users.
  • Participate in various IT/Engineering tool projects as required.

 

Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include:

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office with exposure to manufacturing environments.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.).
