Our challenge

The SRE/DevOps/Production Support Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, reliability, and resilience of our software systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, system administration, and a deep understanding of deployment and operational best practices. They will work closely with development teams to design and support scalable and reliable infrastructure, facilitate continuous integration and delivery, and streamline operational processes.

Additional Information* 

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON, is CAD $110k – $120k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement software systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing.

  • Manage and support OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters, ensuring their reliability and efficiency.

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, uDeploy, and ECS to automate testing and deployment processes.

  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement strategies to ensure optimal system health.

  • Collaborate with development teams to understand their needs and provide production support.

  • Facilitate incident management, post-mortem analysis, and implement preventative measures to reduce downtime.

  • Understand and manage cloud-based resources effectively, optimizing for cost and performance.

  • Provide on-call support for production environments, responding to incidents and emergencies.

  • Work with tools like SONIC NAS/Objects and familiarize with specific technologies such as Lightspeed, CMPs, EEMS, and ServiceNow.

Requirements:

You are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Solid experience with container orchestration systems such as OpenShift and Kubernetes.

  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, uDeploy, and familiarity with ECS.

  • Experience with infrastructure as code, configuration management tools, and cloud services.

  • Strong scripting and automation skills using languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.

  • Familiarity with network storage solutions like SONIC NAS/Objects.

  • Knowledge of specific tools and processes is a plus (Lightspeed, CMPs, EEMS, ServiceNow).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to perform root cause analysis, and proactive prevention strategies.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on cross-team coordination and sharing best practices.

It would be great if you also had:

  • AI/ML experience is good to have

  • Finance experience
