Job Overview
Are you passionate about developing innovative control system solutions for mobile mining machinery? We are looking for a talented individual to join our LHD & Trucks product engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing control systems, producing detailed design documents, and ensuring seamless integration of software and hardware. If you have strong programming skills, a knack for troubleshooting, and a desire to work on cutting-edge projects, we want to hear from you!
Key Job Responsibilities
- Work with product management, product application and commercial teams to develop understanding of product functionality and characteristics required for controls system’s needs.
- Work with various cross-functional teams to develop and program software controls requirements for new product controls, product features, diagnostics, algorithms, etc.
- Evaluate control strategies and algorithms and contribute to setting performance criteria, developing validation plans for each system and ensuring plan execution.
- Hands-on hardware setup, system debugging and code optimization.
- Develop and execute the test plans necessary for the validation of technical solutions, on the different machinery, while taking into account the norms and standards established.
- Design software system interfaces.
- Work closely with product design, quality, and manufacturing engineers, and the production team to ensure that the system supports all critical objectives of the product design technical specification.
- Research and specify components selection.
- Perform and generate software functional tests and document tests for engineering.
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing.
- Provides existing product line support in design activities and/or modification of hardware in production.
- Plans the manufacturing, installation, operation, and maintenance of control software and electrical designs.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or Software Engineering with relevant experience.
- 3-5 years of experience with mobile machinery electrical controls design and programming;
- Familiar with Control Area Networks (CAN);
- Experience in software programming (Labview, C, C++, CoDeSys, Python, Matlab, Danfoss Plus+1, Parker IQAN).
- Familiarity with integrated software design and development environment (SDE) tools.
- Can develop test plans, perform testing, and validate control systems.
- Ability to integrate control systems with other subsystems, such as sensors, actuators, and other control devices.
- Experience in reviewing and debugging code.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Have demonstrated ability to work both alone and in a team.
- Self-learner with the ability to take initiative to improve.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while being detail oriented.
