We are looking for an energetic and diligent Senior Biostatistician to join our Vancouver team! Our ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Healthcare and Technology, allowing them to take ownership of all aspects of health data management & analysis. If you are a skilled data lead with the ability to swiftly grasp technical concepts, generate scientifically rigorous reports, and have a strong background in biostatistics and medical data analysis, we encourage you to apply for this position!

What You’ll Do

Data Analysis:

  • Analyze clinical data sources to extract meaningful insights and trends.
  • Design and conduct clinical study designs (i.e. randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, cross-sectional studies) generate reports, and contribute to scientific publications.
  • Communicate complex statistical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, translating technical results into actionable recommendations for clinical research and business activities.
  • Design and develop reports and dashboards using tools like SQL, Power BI, and Tableau.
  • Organize, assess, clean, and validate data, ensuring quality and supporting research and business objectives.
  • Perform a plethora of advanced statistical tests for sample size estimations, descriptive, exploratory, comparative and inferential tests.

Data Management:

  • Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and integrity through rigorous quality assurance.
  • Develop and maintain documentation such as Data Management Plans and eCRF specifications.
  • Collaborate with DB programmers to design (e)CRFs and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Manage queries, perform SAE reconciliation, and handle pre-lock and data lock tasks.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Health Informatics or related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
  • Experience working with Radiological imaging (DICOM, nifti) would be an asset. 
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare data analysis, biostatistics and clinical research.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and other statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong understanding of healthcare terminology, EHR systems, and data standards (HL7, FHIR).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in medical coding and healthcare data standards and regulatory authorities procedures (e.g. FDA).
  • Knowledge of AI/ML dataset management.
  • Prior experience with clinical trial data and publication in scientific journals.
  • Proficient in diagnostic performance analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of AI models in medical imaging and diagnostics.
  • Skilled in designing and implementing risk assessment models that utilize clinical and imaging data to quantify patient risk profiles.
  • Experienced in conducting cost-effectiveness analyses to assess the economic value of screening and diagnostic tests.

  • Base salary for this role ranges from $130,000-$150,000 CAD depending upon experience
